FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mansfield Downs Wells and Pitt-Bradford
 
AURORA, NY – Mansfield defeated Wells College 61-34 and Pitt-Bradford 63-30 in their second meet of the weekend Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.
 
The young team was led by Abigail Zdancewicz, Candace Brown and Connie Medura. Zdancewicz placed first in the 1000 freestyle (12:44.26). The sophomore also placed first in the 500 freestyle (6:05.13). Senior Lauren Dorosh went on to place third in the 500 freestyle (6:39.35).
 
Medura continued her strong performance from yesterday with two first place finishes in the 200 IM (2:30.56) and the 100 breaststroke (1:15.96). Brown also garnered two first place finishes in the 200 freestyle (2:16.12) and 100 freestyle (1:01.15)
 
Hilary Feudale (1:05.80) and Amanda Ernst (1:10.02) swam to a 1-2 finish in the 100 backstroke.
 
Alexis Cable scored points for the Mountaineers in the 50 freestyle with a third place finish (28.06).
 
In the 200 medley relay, Feudale, Medura, Ernst, and Cable garnered a first place finish (2:02.51), edging Pitt-Bradford by .72 seconds.
 
Mansfield moves to 5-5 on the season.
 
The Mounties are set to travel to California, Pa. for the California Invitational next weekend on Jan. 24.
