FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Field Hockey Downs Kutztown 2-1 to Kick-Off LUMA 2014
 
MANSFIELD – Chelsea Tanco and Lacey Croasdale each scored as Mansfield defeated Kutztown 2-1 in front of a large crowd at Karl Van Norman Field to kick-off LUMA 2014.
 
The Mountaineers got on the board early when Tanco made a heads-up play to take the ball away from the Kutztown keeper and place it in goal. It was the freshman's team-leading third score of the season.
 
In the 25^th minute, Kayla Grunza played a great pass into Croasdale who redirected the ball into goal to extend Mansfield's lead.
 
The Mounties' 2-0 lead would stand until halftime.
 
Kutztown cut their deficit in half when Anna Behm scored unassisted on a breakaway in the 41^st minute.
 
The Mountaineers complete their three-game home stand on Saturday, Sept. 27 when it hosts top-ranked Millersville as part of Mansfield's Homecoming celebration.
