FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Hathaway Scores but Mounties Fall to #3 West Chester, 6-1

MANSFIELD – Brianna Hathaway scored her first goal of the season, but No. 3 West Chester was too much as Mansfield fell 6-1 in its home opener at Karl Van Norman Field.

West Chester's Alexis Versak registered a hat trick as three different Golden Rams recorded goals in the contest.

The Mountaineers got on the board in the 60^th minute when Kayla Grunza placed a perfect pass across the front of the goal and Hathaway directed it into the left side of the cage. The assist was Grunza first of the year.

West Chester scored the first five goals of the game and capped the scoring in the 63^rd minute.

Mansfield continues its three-game home stand on Saturday when it hosts Kutztown as part of the Light Up Mansfield Again Festivities.
