FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Robinson Finishes 5th in 1,000m Finals to Earn IC4A/ECAC All-East Honors

BOSTON – Mike Robinson finished fifth in the 1,000m and became the first Mansfield athlete to earn Division I ECAC/IC4A All-East honors at the IC4A Indoor Track and Field Championships on Sunday.

Robinson turned in another school record time in the 1,000m at 2:26.22 in the finals. Yesterday, Robinson finished seventh overall in the 1,000m prelims with a time of 2:26.51 breaking his own record set in January at Cornell.

The senior currently owns five Mansfield indoor records.

Last week, Robinson won conference titles in the mile and 800m runs on his way to being named PSAC Men's Championship Most Valuable Track Athlete and the Championship's Overall Most Valuable Athlete.

Next up for the Mountaineers is the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Winston-Salem, N.C. where a record three athletes have qualified. Robinson will compete in the mile run at the championships.
