FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Robinson Shatters Mansfield 3,000m Indoor Record

ALLENDALE, Mich. – Mike Robinson shattered the Mansfield 3,000m record with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 8:22.78 at Grand Valley State's Big Meet on Saturday.

It marks the third indoor record set by Robinson this season and the fourth of his career. Robinson's impressive list of Mansfield indoor records include the 800m, 1,000m, mile and now 3,000m. He's also the PSAC record holder in both the 1,000m and mile.

Robinson finished second overall in a field of 76 athletes. The senior broke Bud Plaszenski's time of 8:32.23 set during the 2011 season.

Junior Jesse Jones posted his best time of the season and second best overall in the 3,000m with an 8:55.53. That time was good for a 32^nd place finish.
