WILKES-BARRE – Connie Medura qualified for her second PSAC event as she broke Stephanie Klegarth's eight-year-old school record in the 200 breaststroke at the Diamond City Invitational. The sophomore swam to a fourth place 2:33.17, edging East Stroudsburg's Jamie Kane by .28 seconds. Medura's time was 3.45 seconds fast than the PSAC qualifying time. Medura's 200 breaststroke qualification marked her second PSAC qualification on the season. The sophomore qualified just a day earlier during the second session of the Diamond City Invite in the 100 breaststroke with a 1:10.86.
 
In the 1650 freestyle, Abigail Zdancewicz swam a PSAC qualifying time to win the event. The sophomore's time of 18:41.01 was a whopping 10.64 seconds faster than the PSAC qualifying mark. Zdancewicz blew the competition out of the water with the closest time from Mount Saint Mary College's Lauren Becerra coming in 40.86 seconds later. The sophomore's 1650 qualification marked her third PSAC qualification on the season. Zdancewicz qualified in the 500 freestyle with a 5:19.77 and the 200 freestyle 2:02.49 just a day earlier at the Diamond City Invite.
 
Hilary Feudale continued her own success at the Diamond City Invite by qualifying for a second event for the PSAC Championship Meet. The junior swam to a 2:16.38 third place finish in the 200 backstroke, edging Hood College's Caitlin Fay by .91 seconds. Feudale's qualification in the 200 backstroke marked her second PSAC qualification on the season. In the second session of the Diamond City Invite, the junior qualified in the 100 backstroke with a 1:02.28
 
In the 100 freestyle, freshmen Amanda Ernst and Alexis Cable turned in strong performances. Ernst finished in eighth place with a 56.42, edging Hood's Ashley Griffin by .07 seconds. Cable finished close behind in twelfth with a 57.03, edging East Stroudsburg's Shelby Stalnaker by .24 seconds. Both freshmen just missed the PSAC qualifying mark with Ernst .07 seconds over and Cable .88 seconds over.
 
In the 400 freestyle relay, the team of Cable, Feudale, Zdancewicz and Ernst placed third with a 4:47.81. The team just missed the 2000 school record by 1.78 seconds.
 
Mansfield (3-4) finished fifth out of nine teams with 370 points. East Stroudsburg won the Invitational with 752.5 points.
 
The Mounties are set to begin 2015 with a home meet against Lock Haven on Jan. 16 at 1 p.m.
