FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Field Hockey's Late Rally Comes up Short Against #10 Bloomsburg

Jessi Swingle and
Lacey Croasdale scored in the final 10 minutes of the game, but Mansfield's rally came up just short in a 4-3 loss at #10 Bloomsburg Saturday afternoon in PSAC play.

Candice Smith of Bloomsburg scored a goal late in the first half to take a 1-0 lead into halftime.

In the second half, the Huskies extended their lead to 3-0 with goals in the 40
th and 52
nd minutes by Laura Gerhard and Nikki Gattone respectively.

Swingle put Mansfield on the board in the 57
th minute with a hard shot into goal on a pass from
Claire Swink.

In the 61
st minute, Meagan Hill extended the Bloomsburg lead to 4-1.

The Mountaineers wouldn't go away quietly though, as Croasdale played a deflection off the goalie's pads for the score just two minutes later. Swingle scored her second of the game soon after with a backhand shot to the upper right side of goal.

Mansfield held a 12-10 advantage in total shots in the game with 10 coming in the second half alone.
