Huntingdon, Pa. – Mansfield moved to 3-1 on the season as the Mounties defeated Penn State Altoona 133-63 and Juniata 108-84. This is the best start to a season that Mansfield has had under head coach
Kaymee Kelly.

Leading the Mounties once again were sophomores
Abigail Zdancewicz and
Connie Medura. Each finished with a pair of first place finishes. Zdancewicz finished in 800 meter freestyle with a 11:01.35 and the 400 meter freestyle in 5:02.85. Medura finished the 200 meter IM in 2:45.17 and the 100 meter breaststroke in 1:22.75.

Hilary Feudale added a first place finish in the 100 meter backstroke with a 1:13.36.

Freshman
Amanda Ernst performed well for Mansfield with first and second place finishes. Ernst placed first in the 100 meter butterfly with a 1:13.03. She went on to swim a 29.44 in the 50 meter freestyle, just .33 seconds behind Juniata's first place finisher, Tzvia Cahn.

Alexis Cable added a first place finish in the 100 meter freestyle with a 1:06.18. Cable was able to edge out Junita's Krista Peachey by .50 seconds for the win.

Sophomore
Doni Matrone swam a 1:07.52 in the 100 meter freestyle, just 1.04 seconds behind Juniata's second place finisher Cahn. The sophomore went on to finish with a 2:29.96 in the 200 meter freestyle.

Noelle Erickson finished second against PSU Altoon and fourth against Juniata in the 200 meter freestyle with a 2:32.20

Carolyn Mercatanti finished with an 11:40.96 in the 800 meter freestyle.
Stefanie Hile swam a 1:21.90 in the 100 meter backstroke.
Alicia Patterson went on to swim a 1:38.62 in the 100 breaststroke.

Senior
Lauren Dorosh finished third against PSU Altoona and fourth against Juniata in the 400 meter freestyle with a 5:33.57.

The Mounties proved to be strong in the relay events with first, second, and third place finishes. Finishing first in the 200 meter medley relay was the team of Feudal, Medura, Ernst and Cable in 2:14.74. In the 200 meter freestyle relay, the team of Matrone, Erickson, Zdancewicz and Feudale finished second with a 2:04.72. Finishing behind them in third place was the team of Dorosh, Mercatanti, Patterson and Hile in 2:13.15.

The Mounties look to further their winning record on Oct. 25 at Lock Haven at 11 a.m.
