Six Mounties Hit Qualifying Marks for PSAC Championship at Gulden Invitational
LEWISBURG – Mansfield University's
Savannah Boucher,
Latimere Campbell,
Kait Chegwidden,
Jesse Jones,
Jake Shedden and Yaw Boetang all qualified for the upcoming PSAC Championship at the Gulden Invitational at Bucknell University Saturday.
Boucher earned team-points and qualified for the PSAC's with a 5th place finish in the mile (5:13.17).
Campbell punched his ticket to the championship with a time of 23.0 in the 200 meters while senior
Kait Chegwidden was 7th overall in the 3000 meters with a time of 10:45.72.
Jones and Shedden qualified in the 3000 with times of 9:00.03 and 9:01.11 respectively while Boetang's mark of 7.15 qualified him in the 60 meters with a ninth place overall finish.
It was a strong team performance for the Mountaineers who hadn't competed in more than a month.
Mansfield also got solid performances from
Alexa Tsiknas who scored team points with a 5th place showing in the pole vault by improving her already PSAC qualifying height to 10-10.
Olivia Lopes, who posted an NCAA provisional qualifying time in the 200 meters earlier this season, was the top non-Division I finisher in the 400 meters with a time of 1:0037. She also posted the third best qualifying time in the 60 meters at 7.89.
Kristy Scordino was 13th in a field of 23 Division I runners in the 800 meters (2:27.05).
Senior
Kait Chegwidden was 7th overall in the 3000 meters with a time of 10:45.72 while

Jenna Hoefer finished in the top 20 of the weight throw (37-04).
Mansfield returns to Bucknell for the Bison Open next weekend.
