FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Becoats tops six Mounties in double figures with 23 points in 101-86 exhibition win over Central Penn

MANSFIELD – Senior Charles Becoats topped six Mountaineers in double-figures to lead Mansfield to a 101-86 win over Central Penn in an exhibition game Tuesday night in Decker Gymnasium.

Mansfield never trailed in the contest, taking a 13-3 on a jumper by Onyema Uttti four minutes into the game and extending their advantage to 57-36 at halftime.

Sophomore Joe Bell recorded a double-double by intermission, scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds while Utti scored all of his 16 points in the first half.

Mansfield held a 46-41 rebounding advantage and hit 9-of-16 3-point attempts.

Becoats went 4-of-7 on 3-point attempts and connected on 5-of-6 free throw attempts in scoring his 23 points. In addition to Utti's 16 points, Bell ended the night with 15 points and 16 rebounds while also dishing out a game-high five assists. Kenny Johnson and Chuck Harper each scored 14 points with freshman Taijay Williams ending the night with 12 points.

Devon Dorsey led Central Penn (8-2) with 35 points and 14 rebounds.

Mansfield starts PSAC East play this Saturday at West Chester.
