Grunza's two goals lead Mansfield to 4-1 win over St. Michaels

SHIPPENSBURG –
Kristyn Grunza scored two goals and added an assist to lead Mansfield to a 4-1 win over St. Michaels (VT) in a field hockey game played at Shippensburg Sunday morning.
Mansfield (2-0) started the scoring early when
Taryn Schawillie scored off an assist from
Kristy Tutorow less than two minutes into the game.
The Mountaineers took a 2-0 lead nine minutes later when Grunza scored her first goal off an assist by her younger sister
Kayla Grunza.
Mansfield, which held a 12-0 shot advantage in the first half, took that 2-0 lead into halftime before senior
Danielle Hackenberg's goal with an assist from
Kristyn Grunza increased the lead to 3-0 10 minutes into the second half.
St. Michael's (0-2) got on the scoreboard in the 51st minute when Jenny Boudrow scored on assist from Hali Roy before Grunza scored the game's final goal 10 minutes later.
Jamie Twist recorded three saves for Mansfield while St. Michael's Jackie Stacey was also credited with three saves.
Mansfield held a 16-8 shot advantage.
It marks the fourth time in the last five years the Mountaineers have started the season by winning at least their first two games of the season.
Mansfield takes on nationally ranked Kutztown in the Mountaineers home opener this Tuesday.
