Jeron Phillips Sr. joined the Mansfield women’s basketball program in August 2026. Phillips’ responsibilities include player development, serving as the post player position coach, recruiting, and program organization. He brings extensive experience in player development, recruiting, and building successful team cultures to the Mansfield program.

Prior to Mansfield, Phillips joined the Bryn Mawr College women’s basketball program as an assistant coach in the summer of 2023 and was promoted to Recruiting Coordinator in the summer of 2024. During his time with the program, Phillips played an integral role in recruiting, player development, program organization, and building a culture centered on accountability, confidence, and team success.

The 2024-25 season marked a historic year for Bryn Mawr women’s basketball. The Owls finished with a 7-18 record, recording the program’s most wins since the 1993-94 season. The team also established several offensive and defensive statistical milestones, including 1,246 points scored, the second-most field goals made in a single season with 476, and 192 steals, ranking 10th in program history.

The 2024-25 season also saw senior captain Jessica Smith earn Second-Team All-Centennial Conference honors. The recognition marked the first time since the 2004-05 season that a Bryn Mawr basketball player received All-Centennial Conference honors and only the third time in program history. Smith also surpassed 1,000 career points, becoming just the seventh player in Bryn Mawr women’s basketball history to reach the milestone.

During the 2025-26 season, Phillips continued to make a significant impact on player development, particularly in the frontcourt. He played an integral role in the development of freshman center Jenna Voller, who finished sixth in the Centennial Conference in rebounding, averaging 8.8 rebounds per game. Phillips also contributed to the development of Michelle Jiang, who ranked 23rd in the conference in rebounding, averaging 5.2 rebounds per game. Additionally, Phillips helped Hannah Mack develop into one of the conference’s top shot blockers, as she finished seventh in the Centennial Conference, averaging 1.3 blocks per game. The development and production of these student-athletes highlighted Phillips’ commitment to individual skill development, confidence building, and preparing players to compete at a high level within the Centennial Conference.

Prior to joining Bryn Mawr, Phillips spent nine years at Providence Creek Academy in Delaware as the Head Boys Middle School Basketball Coach. While still serving as Head Coach, he also spent three seasons as an assistant coach with the girls basketball program and three seasons as an assistant football coach. In addition, Phillips has several years of experience coaching youth football and basketball in Middletown, Delaware.

Phillips has also served as an assistant coach at the AAU level in Delaware, gaining extensive experience in player development, recruiting, team building, and preparing athletes for the next level. His coaching philosophy emphasizes individual skill development, confidence building, discipline, accountability, and using basketball as a vehicle to teach valuable life lessons.

Throughout his coaching career, Phillips has helped develop athletes who have gone on to compete at the collegiate level. His former basketball players have continued their careers at institutions including Kutztown University, Bates College, and Rowan University. His former football players have gone on to compete at Davidson College, Merrimack College, Delaware State University, Southern Utah University, Kutztown University, and Frostburg State University.

Phillips earned his bachelor’s degree in Integrated Studies, with concentrations in Sociology and Finance, from Delaware State University. He brings a diverse background in coaching, recruiting, player development, and leadership to every program he serves.
