Under the direction of track & field head coaches Mike Rohl and Nadine Faustin-Parker, Gray will work primarily with the Mountaineer throwers among other duties.
As a student-athlete at Mansfield, Gray earned All-American status after placing 6th in the discus at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the spring of 2008. He qualified for the national championships by winning the PSAC discus competition on his way to being named 2008 PSAC Male Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year.
During the 2009 outdoor season, Gray reclaimed his discus title at the PSAC Championships while placing 7th in the hammer throw event. With his performance at the conference championships, he was named PSAC Championship Field Athlete of the Year. Gray went on to place 11th in the discus at the NCAA Outdoor Championships that same season.
Gray threw his way to a PSAC shot put title and a third place finish in the weight throw at the conference indoor championships during the 2008-09 season.
The Elmira, NY native is a three-time MU Athlete of the Year. He is one of just six athletes in Mansfield history to earn three or more Athlete of the Year awards.
