Mike Bucek, a former All-CSFL performer, enters his first season as an assistant coach with the Mountaineer sprint football program where he will guide the safeties.
Bucek was a four-year member of the Mansfield sprint football program, appearing in 27 games at linebacker. He finished his career ranking third in program history in solo tackles with 88 and fourth in total tackles with 134.
Following the 2016 season, Bucek was named to 2nd Team All-CSFL recognition at linebacker. He also garnered CSFL Defensive Player of the Week honors in his senior season. Bucek posted two games of double-figure tackles including Cornell (10) and Chestnut Hill (11) in 2016.
Bucek started every game of his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons and 6-of-7 games as a freshman. He recorded 9.5 career tackles for loss and forced three fumbles with one recovery. He recorded a pair of sacks during the 2014 season.
Bucek graduated from Mansfield University with a degree in criminal justice in 2016.
