Jessi Swingle, a former Mansfield University field hockey standout, joined the Mountaineer staff as an assistant coach in 2016.
Swingle played defense for the Mountaineers from 2011-14, making 53 starts in 70 career appearances. As a junior, Swingle led the nation in individual defensive saves with 10 and helped the Mountaineer defensive corps to a Division II-best 21 team defensive saves. She collected 21 defensive saves over her career. As a senior, Swingle led the team in points (11) and goals (5).

Swingle was a member of the NFHCA National Academic Squad and a PSAC and MU Presidential Scholar-Athlete. She attended the NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum in 2013 and was named team captain.

The Hunlock, Pa. native graduated from Mansfield with degrees in Early Childhood and Special Education.
