Christian Linney joined the Mansfield field hockey coaching staff prior to the start of the 2019 season.
Linney competed and trained with Team USA from 2009 to 2016, playing for the USA Under 16 Team (2009-10), Under 18 (2010-11), Under 21 (2012-15), as well as the Men’s National Team since 2010. He helped the USMNT to a fifth place finish at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto and a seventh place finish at the 2015 World League Round 2 in Chula Vista, Calif.
Linney also competed in the 2015 series against Argentina in Boston, a 2015 European tour in The Netherlands and Belgium, and a 2014 summer series against Chile and Mexico in California. He was selected to the Pan American Elite Team in 2013 and was a member of the team that earned bronze at the Youth Olympic Festival in Australia in 2013.
He was also a member of HC Roma field hockey club.
A native of Chigwell, Great Britain, Linney finished high school in La Jolla, Calif. before going on to earned his Bachelor of Architecture from Woodbury University (Calif.) in 2017.
