The Athletic Training Staff uses a variety of resources to effectively serve the athletic teams at Mansfield University. Within Decker Gymnasium, the Athletic Trainers have their main athletic training room. There is a second athletic training facility located in Van Norman Fieldhouse.
The Decker athletic training room is home to two whirlpools that can accommodate both hot and cold types of treatment, as well as a Game Ready Unit for cold and compression. An ice machine and a hydrocollator unit also provide heat and cold therapy.
There are seven treatment tables in the athletic training room, four of which are located directly next to modaltity units providing both ultrasound and electrical stimulation. The athletic training room has a multitude of stretch bands, dumbbells, and foam rollers used in range of motion and strengthening exercises, along with multiple stability and balance stations. The Decker athletic training facility is also home to a state of the art Biodex balance machine.
When the athletic trainers are not in the athletic training rooms, you can be sure to find them at any of athletic venues on campus.
