MANSFIELD, Pa. – The Mansfield Mountaineer sprint football program has announced their 2026 schedule, featuring eight Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) games, including four home games on Karl Van Norman Field.
The Mounties will open the Mike Pearson era on the road at Cornell on Saturday, Sept. 19, when Mansfield and the Big Red meet in the 22nd Annual Josh Palmer Pigskin Classic. Kickoff at Schoellkopf Field is set for 1 p.m.
The Josh Palmer Pigskin Classic is named in honor of former Mountaineer football player and assistant coach Josh Palmer, who overcame late-stage Hodgkin's disease and fought his way back to the gridiron. While undergoing treatment and recovery, Palmer founded the Josh Palmer Fund in 1999 to support local young adults and families affected by cancer. To date, the Fund has provided nearly $2 million in financial and practical assistance to local individuals and organizations throughout the Twin Tiers.
Mansfield will have their home opener on homecoming weekend on September 26. The Mountaineers will welcome Molloy into Karl Van Norman Field, starting at 2 p.m.
The Mountaineers will be on the road for the following two weeks as they have Friday night games at Caldwell and Army. The Caldwell game set for a 7 p.m. kick on Oct. 2 and Army at 7 p.m. on Oct. 9.
Mansfield has a bye week before finishing the road slate at Franklin Field against Penn on Saturday, Oct. 24 at 3 p.m.
Mansfield Sprint Football will host it's first Friday night game welcoming Navy to Karl Van Norman field, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. as part of Military Appreciation Week.
They host St. Thomas Aquinas College on Saturday, Nov. 7 for a Cancer Awareness Day. Kickoff set for noon.
The Mounties will hold senior day on the final home game on Nov. 14 as they take on CSFL newcomer D'Youville at 1 p.m.
The CSFL Championship will host the top team from each division on November 20.

ABOUT SPRINT FOOTBALL: Sprint Football is a full-contact, intercollegiate, varsity sport that features the same rules as NCAA football, except that all players must weigh 178.0 pounds or less.
