MANSFIELD, Pa. - The Mansfield Mountaineers women's soccer team hosted Lackawanna College on Wednesday (Oct. 28) for their final game of the season and ran away with a 2-0 win.
The Mounties (2-16-0) offense was led by Teagan Herbers who scored her first goal of the season and her first career goal in the outing while also picking up an assist. Sybil Thompson also tallied a goal, marking her first on the year and the first of her career as well.
The strong Mansfield defense was led by goalkeeper Angel Gulé who was perfect in goal, stopping all seven shots taken on goal by the Falcons (1-15-0).
The Mountaineers wasted no time getting the scoring started, scoring a goal within the first two minutes of play when Herbers found Thompson for a quick connection, finding the back of the net.
After a quiet 58 minutes of play and great defensive efforts from both sides, the Mounties found the back of the net again. Herbers connected with a ball off a free kick and found the top of the net for Mansfield's second goal of the day.
The Mountaineers held on to their two goal lead with 30 minutes remaining, securing the 2-0 win over the Falcons.
That concludes the 2026 season for the women's soccer program.
