MANSFIELD, Pa. — The Mountaineers baseball team (13-28, 7-17 PSAC East) hosted the Bloomsburg Huskies (20-24, 9-15 PSAC East) for Senior Day at Joseph Shaute Field.
 
Before today's doubleheader, Mansfield honored its eight seniors; 
Mike Biuso, 
Ryan Scott, 
Jacob Houtz, 
Jeffrey Coakley, 
Brett Stewart, 
Ryan Verbonitz, 
Austin Lewis, and 
Shane Stossel.
 
Game One: Bloomsburg 10, Mansfield 3
 
Garrett Emerick started game one for Mansfield and struck out the first two he faced, but an error by the Mountie defense, two hit-by-pitches and a walk gave Bloomsburg a 1-0. A two RBI single followed to put the Huskies up 3-0 and a double steal pushed another run across before the end of the first half inning of play.
 
Ryan Verbonitz got Mansfield on the board in the bottom of the second with a sac-fly to cut into the Huskies lead.
 
Jacob Houtz doubled home another for the Mountaineers in the third to make it 4-2 after three. 
 
The Huskies added another in the fourth but 
Hunter Smith got it right back in the bottom half with a solo home run.
 
Bloomsburg tacked on five more over the final three innings and took game one on Sunday (Apr. 27) afternoon.
 
Game Two: Bloomsburg 12, Mansfield 4
 
Bloomsburg started hitting early in game two, scoring three runs off two hits to give them an early 3-0 lead against Mansfield.
 
In the bottom of the first inning, 
Jacob Houtz earned a solo homerun to put the Mounties on the board.
 
The Huskies responded quickly in the second inning with four hits and poured in five runs to regain the lead, 8-1.
 
Mansfield capitalized on an error from Bloomsburg with 
Cole Serfass grounding out and 
Ryan Scott bringing a run in. 
Hunter Smith added an RBI single with Scott scoring the run, bringing the score 12-3 at the bottom of the third.
 
With another error from the Huskies, Mansfield was able to take advantage of the opportunity with 
Logan Wells gaining an RBI with Houtz scoring the run. 
 
The Mounties were unable to find traction in the fifth inning as Bloomsburg took control of game two and earned a 12-4 victory over Mansfield.

Mansfield will play their final home doubleheader of the 2025 season on Thursday (May. 1) against West Chester. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. and game two will approximately begin at 3:30 p.m.
