ITHACA, N.Y. – The Mansfield Mountaineers closed out the 2024 season with a shootout victory beating Cornell University on the road on Friday night, with a score of 48-35.

Marcus Quaker and
Terrance Quaker lead the Mountie offense. M. Quaker passed for 105 yards but did most of his damage on the ground rushing for four touchdowns and 107 yards. T. Quaker rushed for a season high 139 yards and two scores.
T. Quaker also became the third player in Mansfield sprint football history to rush for over 1000 yards.Â

Cahsid Raymond closed out his electric career rushing for 72 yards and a touchdown, catchng three passes for 81 yards and adding 35 through the air.

Jackson Taylor lead the Mounties with 9 tackles.

Mansfield was in a back and forth battle early and on the strength of two M. Quaker scores, was tied 14-14 at the half.

The Mounties scored thrice in the third quarter on rushes from T. Quaker, M. Quaker, and Raymond of 39,14, and three yards out. Mansfield led 34-14 after the third quarter.

After a Cornell response, T. Quaker and M. Quaker each found the endzone to go up 48-21.

Mansfield would surrender two late Cornell touchdowns but hold on for the 48-35 win.
