MANSFIELD, Pa. - Mountaineers Soccer (0-5-3, 0-5-1 PSAC East) took on the Bloomsburg Huskies (6-2-0, 4-2-0 PSAC East) on Wednesday (Oct. 2) in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division contest.
The Huskies started quickly on offense taking two shots in the first 16 minutes, applying pressure on the Mansfield defense.
A defensive first half had the Mountaineers registering one shot on goal in the half.
Bloomsburg had a quick start to open the second half with a goal in the 59th minute, taking a 1-0 lead over the Mounties.
The Huskies added to their lead with a second goal in the 63rd minute.
Mansfield was unable to return the offensive pressure that the Huskies presented, allowing Bloomsburg to take the game with a score of 2-0.
Catherine Simone, Olivia Hudson, and Caitlyn Hoppe led the team with a shot on goal each.
Mounties keeper Alyssa Shuman finished with four saves.
