MANSFIELD, Pa.- David Wootten was the top finisher to lead the Mansfield Mountaineer men's cross country team to a dual meet victory over Bloomsburg, in the season opening meet, on Thursday August 31. 
 
Wootten took the top spot in the 4K race with a time of 12:49.0. It marks the first collegiate cross country victory in his career. 
 
Derek Simpson, Seth Neal and Isaac Showers took spots four through six as they packed up with times of 12:58, 13:03, and 13:10 respectively. 
 
Owen Showers (13:36) and Rylan Ebner (14:07) rounded out the Mansfield finishers in eighth and 13^threspectively. 
 
The Mounties picked up the dual meet win in a score of 24-31. It's the Mountaineers first dual meet victory since 2018. 
 
Mansfield is back in action Saturday, Sep. 9 as they travel to SUNY Brockport.
