BB: Mounties Fall to Bloomsburg

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - The Mountaineer baseball team dropped the opening game of their Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East series with Bloomsburg, 10-3, on the road on Thursday afternoon, April 27. 

The Mounties fall to 12-17 overall and 3-16 in the PSAC East while the Huskies improve to 21-13 overall and 11-8 in conference. 

Bloomsburg opened the contest with three runs in the bottom of the first, before tacking on one in the fourth and six over the sixth and seventh inning en route to victory in the series' opener.
 
The Mounties scattered their three runs with solo scores in the fifth, seventh, and eighth inning. Zach Spray homered in the seventh inning highlighted the Mounties on offense.
 
Spray's homer was his third of the season, with all three coming in the last two conference series. Spray also doubled, Ryan Scott recorded three hits, while Brittain Shander and Marcus Nales drove in runs to lead the Mountaineer offense, who finished with nine hits.
 
The Huskies finished with 11 hits, led by a 3-for-3 effort from Brady Ebbert. Jared Marshman picked up his sixth win on the mound for Bloomsburg, tossing eight innings, allowing three runs, and striking out five.
 
Ryan King took the loss for Mansfield and was charged with six runs on seven hits in five innings of work. Lorenzo Febbo put up a clean sheet in relief to highlight the Mountaineer relievers.
