MANSFIELD, Pa. - In another instant classic, the fourth seeded Mansfield Mountaineers field hockey team (12-6) defeated fifth seeded Bloomsburg (14-5) once again, but this time the stakes mattered more as the 1-0 overtime victory claims the Mounties first playoff win in program history in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Quarterfinals. Â
With three minutes remaining in overtime, the lone goal to clinch the red and black's first ever playoff victory came off the stick of Hannah Meyer with an assist from Saramae Radel.Â
This marks the second victory over the Huskies this season after a 4-3 buzzer beater victory just last week.Â
Nine shots from the Mounties were taken, but Meyers' shot remained the only shot on goal. Bloomsburg posted six shots and three shots on goal.Â
Seven penalty corners helped create many chances, including the game winner, while the maroon and gold landed five. Â
Radel was credited with four shots, while Meyer and Blaise Cugini each picked up two on the afternoon,
August Lewis made three saves on the afternoon and picked up her eighth shutout of the season.Â
Seven cards were given out on the game, with four green cards given to the Huskies and two green cards and one yellow card to the Mounties.Â
