MANSFIELD – The Mansfield University sprint football team has announced its 2022 schedule featuring eight regular season games including four home games at Karl Van Norman Field.

Homecoming 2022 will be held on the weekend of Oct. 7-8 with the Mountaineers hosting Saint Thomas Aquinas College on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 8 at 1 p.m.

Under fifth-year Head Coach John Evans, the Mountaineers (4-4, 2-2 CSFL North) notched their third straight season with a .500 or better record, the longest streak in program history. Rising sophomore Cahsid Raymond highlighted 10 Mountaineers to land on the All-Conference Team after he was named Offensive Player and Rookie of the Year in 2021.

The Mountaineers open the 2022 campaign on Saturday, Sept. 17 with a trip to Caldwell University, kicking off at 1 p.m.

MU will host Chestnut Hill College on Saturday, Sept. 24 for their home opener, before hitting the road on Friday, Sept. 30 at Cornell University at 7 p.m.

The Mountaineers host Alderson Broaddus University on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 3 p.m., where the Athletic Department will celebrate Military Awareness throughout the day.  

Sprint football follows with a two-week road stand as they travel to Army West Point on Friday, Oct. 21 before heading to the University of Pennsylvania the following week, Friday, Oct. 28. Both games kick off at 7 p.m.

The Mountaineers conclude the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 5 by hosting the United States Naval Academy at 3 p.m. for Senior Day.

The CSFL Championship game will played between the North and South Divisional Champions at a neutral site on Saturday, Nov. 12. Mansfield University, the host in 2021, has a strong chance of hosting the event again in 2022. Details will be release at gomounties.com as they are made available.
