MANSFIELD, Pa. – The Mansfield University field hockey team forced two penalty corners in the final minute, but No. 5 Millersville University held their ground to escape Karl Van Norman Field with a 1-0 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference victory on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 12 on Senior Day.
The Mountaineers close the 2022 season 8-10 overall and 2-7 in the PSAC. #5 Millersville wraps up their regular season with a 14-3 overall and 7-2 mark in conference and will move on to the PSAC Championship Tournament next week.

Trailing by one with 58 seconds to go, the Mounties drew back-to-back penalty corners, both leading to shots by
Alex Esterling. However, the Marauders denied both opportunities and regained possession before running out the clock to secure the victory. Â
The Marauders' Pili Zaballa scored the game-winning goal in the 35
th minute off a penalty corner coming off assists by Bri Harsh and Ashlynn Lennon.
August Lewis made three-point black saves to keep the Mountaineers within striking distance throughout the contest. Esterling led the MU offense with three shots on goal.
The Marauders finished with a game-high nine penalty corners.
Kerstin Koons made a game-high five saves in cage for Millersville, including two in the final two minutes to secure the victory.
