THE FIELD
The previous championship races conducted in October of 2021 saw both the Edinboro men's and women's teams take the conference title.

After last season's wins, the Fighting Scots reached four consecutive titles for the men's team, and three consecutive titles for the women's team.

Edinboro's men's squad dominated the 2021 PSAC Championship 8k, tallying 32 points with three top-5 finishers in Ward Ries, Nick Amos, and Jack Lacina. Following them, Shippensburg took second place as a team with 71 total points led by first-place finisher Chayce Macknair. In third was Lock Haven with 124 points behind sixth-place winner, Gage Krall.

On the women's side, Edinboro claimed a narrow victory of 61 points over second-place Seton Hill's 73. The Fighting Scots had two top-5 finishers in Sheliah Cheruiyot and Kimberly Goerss who earned second and fourth place, respectively. For the Griffins, Sydney Wolf won the individual title to become the first PSAC Championship top performer in the program's history. In third, Lock Haven achieved the same 124-point total as the men, and claimed two top-15 finishes.

In the men's preseason poll, the predicted order of finish by league coaches was Edinboro, Shippensburg, Lock Haven, IUP, and Slippery Rock in the top five.
