Kenedy Stroup earned NFHCA Division II Scholar of Distinction honors for their elite performance in the classroom, the organization announced on Wednesday, March 24.
Beauduy, Boda, Keim, Meyer and Stroup are five of just 140 field hockey student-athletes at the NCAA Division II level to earn the honor. The quartet mark the second straight year the Mounties have had three or more athletes bring home the honor.
The Division II Scholars of Distinction program recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the 2019-20 academic year.
Beauduy, Boda, Keim, Meyer and Stroup were also named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad in March along with 13 teammates.
A senior midfielder from New Cumberland, Pa., Beauduy is a team captain and is studying molecular and cellular biology. Sophomore goalkeeper from Baldwinsville, N.Y., Boda, is seeking a degree in mathematics. Sophomore Midfielder, Keim is studying early childhood education and is from Trevorton, Pa. Meyer is a sophomore sports nutrition major and is from Kitchener, Ontario, while Stroup is from Millerstown, Pa., is also a member of the women's basketball team and plans to declare business administration as her major.
The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is a nonprofit organization serving field hockey coaches and supporters of the game from across the United States. The mission of the organization is to stimulate the professional development of coaching leadership within the sport of field hockey. The NFHCA strives to cultivate and recognize the professional contributions of its membership and to foster and promote the growth of the sport. The NFHCA is responsible for providing a recognizable presence and voice in regard to legislation affecting the sport as well as interscholastic and intercollegiate programs.
