MANSFIELD – Mansfield University sprint football has announced its 2021 schedule featuring, for the first time, eight regular season games including four home games at Karl Van Norman Field.
 
The last time the Mountaineers touched down they were coming off the most successful season in the sprint football era after posting a 5-2 record in 2019. It marked the first back-to-back winning season in program history and they were rewarded with the Twin Tiers College Team of the Year. 
 
Head coach John Evans enters his fourth year and third season guiding the Mountaineers in 2021. The Mounties feature a full slate of CSFL All-Conference returners and will look to blend them with one of the most highly profile recruiting classes in program history. 
 
The Mountaineers open the 2021 season on Saturday, Sept. 18 when they host rival, Cornell University. 
 
The Mountaineers follow with another home contest with University of Pennsylvania on Sept. 25. One of the first two weekends will serve as Homecoming weekend, which will be announced in the near future by Mansfield University. 

The Mounties hit the road on Oct. 2 and 6 when they travel to Chestnut Hill and St. Thomas Aquinas before returning home for a showdown with the CSFL reigning champs, Army on the 16th. Sprint Football is teaming with the MU field hockey program to celebrate Military Appreciation on that Saturday. 
 
The Mountaineers travel to Alderson Broaddus on Oct. 23 and to Navy on Oct. 30 before concluding the 2021 season at home when they host Caldwell for senior day. 

Mansfield University has been selected to host the CSFL Championship game, which is played between the North and South Divisional Champions at a neutral site on Saturday, Nov. 13 at Karl Van Norman Field.
