MANSFIELD – For the first time since 2019, the Mansfield University baseball and softball programs return to their home fields when they host Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Foe, East Stroudsburg University for afternoon doubleheaders on Monday, March 22.
Baseball will kick things off at noon and 2 p.m. at Shaute Field, while softball will play at 2 and 4 p.m. at Helen Lutes Field.
Softball's last contest on Lutes Field and baseball's last game at Shaute came on April 29, 2019,

The Mansfield University Athletic Department announced its spectator policy earlier this spring. The following guidelines and regulations are in place:
- While on campus (including outdoors on campus grounds), wearing a face mask that covers the nose and mouth.
- Social distancing of at least six (6) feet.
- Family pods may sit or stand together, but not with other family pods.
- Spectators are not permitted to interact in close contact with any player, coach, official, or support staff members before, during, or after the contest.
- Signage will direct fans where they can and cannot sit. Seating will be limited at the venues to meet the social distancing guidelines. Fans are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
- No food or drinks permitted.
- No tailgating activities are allowed.
- Anyone exhibiting signs or symptoms of illness should not travel or attend games.

The Mountaineer softball team enters Monday at 1-5 in the PSAC East, but riding high after earning their first conference win of the season last time out, 8-6 over the Warriors. Senior
Hannah Breitigan is off to the best start of her career and carries a .429 average into Monday. The senior has driven in a team-leading seven RBI on a team-high five extra-base hits.

Alexis Easling had a breakout game at the plate in the Mounties' win on Saturday, finishing 3-for-3 with a run, four RBI and a home run. Senior
Joelle Snyder finished Saturday's doubleheader 3-for-6 with a triple, run scored and RBI.
The young and growing Mountaineer baseball team enters Monday at 1-5 in the PSAC East as well, but has proven to be resilient in the early season. The Mounties two victories have both come in walk off fashion and the group tried to do so again on Saturday when they tied ESU in the seventh before ultimately falling to the Warriors in the bottom half. The Mounties feature seven new starters in the field and three new arms in their weekend rotation.
A quartet of Mounties have driven in five runs and senior
Assaf Lowengart leads the club with three extra base hits and two homers. Seniors
Colby Shimmell and
Hunter DePrimo have kept the Mounties in games on the field and have combined for 49 strikeouts.
