Quincy Amabile earned a top-25 finish to lead the Mansfield University men's and women's cross country teams at the NCAA Atlantic Regional on a brisk Saturday morning, Nov. 9 at Lock Haven University's West Branch Course.
Amabile finished the men's 10K race in 32:29.5, placing 20
th out of a field of 134 runners. Amabile cut nearly three minutes off his All-Region run from 2018, while leading the men to a 15
th-place finish overall. The senior finished 11
th among PSAC runners, besting his finish at the conference meet by six spots.
Christian Tanner crossed the finish line as the second fastest runner for the Mounties with a run of 34 minutes to place 79
th.
Kevin Heeman placed 83
rd with a time of 34:10.8 and
Travis Keefe just missed the top-100, placing 109
th with a run of 35:51.7.
Ben Chambers rounded out the Mounties top-5 by finishing in 38:17.4.
Lyndsey Payne paced the Mountaineer women with a run of 23:38.6, placing 71
st out of a field of 153 runners. Payne checked in at a 6:20 pace mile while cutting three minutes off her regional time from 2018.
Lauran Ensminger finished second on the team and 139
th overall with a run of 26:13.7.
Shelby Alexander came in right behind her at 140
th with a time of 26:19.1 and
Rochelle Myers finished third in the pack at 141
st, crossing the line in 26:21.8.
Carly Daniels crossed the line in 26:34.6 to finish 145
th, rounding out the Mounties top-5.
