MANSFIELD, Pa. – Cay McNichol scored her third goal in two games but the Mansfield University women's soccer team fell to Lock Haven University, 5-1 on Saturday afternoon.
Lock Haven (2-5-2, 2-5-1 PSAC) used first-half goals from Megan Ramaley, Erika Landis and Josie Swartz to jump out to an early advantage.
Mansfield (1-10, 1-8 PSAC) doubled their shot attempts in the second period, but the Bald Eagles tacked on two more scores from Marley Sprenkel and Marah Foltz to put the game out of reach.Â
McNichol connected for her third goal of the season in the 89th minute after using a one-touch dribble to sneak past the keeper and fire a missile into the open net.
Rachel Fox made a save in the opening minute and Stephanie Moir finished with a game-high 13 stops for the Mounties.
Alyssa Mayberry led the Mounties with three shots.
Mansfield travels to Bloomsburg for a 4:30 p.m. start on Saturday.
