MANSFIELD –
Meghan Griffin scored twice to lead Mansfield to a 4-0 PSAC victory over Seton Hill on Friday afternoon at Karl Van Norman Field.

The win gives the Mountaineers nine on the season, making it the most victories since the 2007 season. Mansfield (9-3, 3-1 PSAC) has won at least eight games in each of the last three seasons.

Mansfield currently sits in a three-way tie for third place in the PSAC with a 3-1 conference record. West Chester and East Stroudsburg are the only two unbeaten teams in conference play.

Griffin got the scoring started in the first quarter when she took a pass into the middle and beat the keeper left. The Mountaineers pounded out 17 shots with 10 on goal to go along with eight penalty corners in the first quarter alone to keep the offensive pressure up.

In the second quarter,
Olivia Wagner scored her second of the year after
Christie Buyer sent a pass across the goalmouth for Wagner to finish left post.

Meghan Griffin scored her second of the game and third of the year when she dribbled into the circle and beat the keeper right to increase the Mountie advantage to 3-0.
Dana Evans capped the scoring in the fourth quarter with her PSAC-leading 15
th score of the season.

Brittany Ryan registered her fifth shutout of the season, one shy of the single-season record of six set by Brianna DeLuca in 2006.

The Mountaineers totaled 31 shots with 17 on goal while holding the Griffins to just two shots total. Mansfield recorded 16 penalty corners.
