BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Mansfield Mountaineers cross country teams participated in the distinguished Paul Short Run on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa.

This year marked the 45th anniversary of the Paul Short Run, which is the largest intercollegiate cross country meet in the nation. Approximately 6,000 athletes from nearly 450 schools competed this year. The day-long event proved to be successful for the Mounties, with
Ryan Clifford and
Quincy Amabile again leading the team.

Clifford, Amabile,
Jordan Holmes, and
Ryan Morrissette ran the men's 8k at 1:45 p.m. This race featured 292 runners from dozens of schools. Clifford and Amabile crossed the line for a 5/6 finish in the renowned Paul Short Run. The duo paced the 8k with 5:17 and 5:18 mile splits, respectively.

For the women, five Mountaineers participated in the 6k which started at 2:30 p.m. The women's race included over 350 runners, with
Ayla Rohl,
Rochelle Myers,
Hailey Weidenhammer,
Lyndsey Payne, and
Kenzie Jones all representing Mansfield. Jones was the first Mountie across the line, clocking a 23:39 time and recording a Top-15 finish. Payne followed about thirty seconds later, coming in at 28
th.

For Mansfield, the team will have about a two week break before they travel to Albany, N.Y. for the Albany Invite at 1 p.m. on Friday, October 12th. They close out the regular season on October 19th at Lewisburg, Pa. for the Bison Open.
