MANSFIELD – Mansfield University head sprint football coach John Evans has announced the addition of Kevin Short to the Mountaineer coaching staff.
 
Short brings NFL experience, playing as a member of practice squads with the Kansas City Chiefs, Seattle Seahawks, New York Jets, and Los Angeles Rams from 2015 to 2017. Short played two seasons at Fort Scott Community College in Kansas and earned an associates degree before transferring to the University of Kansas to play under head coach Charlie Weiss.
 
Short will be responsible for the receivers at Mansfield.
 
Mansfield hosts Sacred Heart in an exhibition game on Sept. 8 before opening the regular season on Sept. 15 against Penn at Karl Van Norman Field.
