ROCHESTER, N.Y. –
Jenny Bellefleur won the women's 100-meter dash to highlight the Twilight Invitational hosted by the University of Rochester Saturday evening.
The junior finished first with a time of 12.92—just .59 seconds slower than her personal best. Bellefleur was joined by
Erin Sheridan who finished 9
th at 14.10 and
Alexis Bittel who finished 11
th at 14.50.
Purity Moenga threw for a distance of 9.44 in the women's shot put good for a third-place finish. Moenga was just .10 meters short of her collegiate outdoor record.
Mansfield entered two teams into the women's 1600m relay. Sheridan,
Alexis Bittel, Erin Gibbons, and
Quanda Williams ran for a time of 5:04.57 in fourth while
Margot Springsteen, Madelyn Horn, McKenzie Hatch, and
Charlsie Bowen finished fifth at 5:06.74.
Kenzie Jones ran the women's 200m dash in 38.49 for a ninth-place finish to round out the Mountaineers.
The women return home to host the 'Under the Lights' Invitational tomorrow at Robert T. Maxson Track.
