MANSFIELD – Division-leading Lock Haven remained perfect in the PSAC Central with a pair of 8-0 wins to sweep Mansfield Wednesday afternoon at Helen Lutes Field.

Lock Haven (24-10, 12-0 PSAC Central) struck early in game one with a pair of unearned runs in the top of the first inning. The Bald Eagles held onto the 2-0 advantage before plating four runs in the fourth and two more in the fifth.

The Mansfield (7-10, 5-7 PSAC Central) offense could not answer as LHU ended the opener in five innings.

Alli McGovern was credited with the lone hit for the Mounties.

Eagle starting pitcher Bekah Slattery improved to 11-4 tossing the complete game effort with seven strikeouts.

In the first inning of game two, Mansfield loaded the bases with two outs but could not take advantage. Lock Haven went ahead in the next inning on Casey Carpenter's solo shot.

LHU hung four runs in the fifth and two more in the sixth. Carpenter nailed another in the seventh to make it 8-0 Lock Haven.

Mansfield totaled five hits in game two with McGovern going 2-3 at the plate.

Kayla Gee moved to 11-4 in the circle pitching 7.0 innings with three strikeouts.
Sierra Storm suffered just her third loss of the season.
