MANSFIELD – Juniors Ryan Clifford and Kenzie Jones led Mansfield University cross country to a second-place finish for both the men and women at the Husky Invitational in Bloomsburg on Friday.
 
Jones led the women at third with a time of 19:34, followed by Kirsten Anderson finishing fourth at 20:56. Janelle Peachy was sixth coming in at 21:53 to complete the top three Mountaineers.
 
Ryan Clifford claimed second-place honors to lead the men with a time of 16:23. Quincy Amabile was right on the veteran's heels finishing second with only three seconds separating the two runners, a fantastic feat for a freshman. Travis Keefe came in 13^th at 17:51 to round out the Mounties' top three.
 
Both the men's and women's teams scored 30 points coming in behind Bloomsburg each with 25.
 
The cross country teams open their home schedule by hosting the Flatlander Invitational at Lamb's Creek Cross Country Course on Saturday, Sept. 9.
