SALEM, Va. – Mansfield let an early lead slip away as Bowie State edged the Mounties 4-3 in game two at the West Virginia Wesleyan Challenge on Saturday. Chowan came away with a 10-0 win in the opener.

Bowie State (4-6) struck first with a run in the top of the first, but Mansfield (4-3) stormed back in the bottom of the second to take a 3-1 lead.
Koryn Wickwire and
Melanie Taylor singled before moving to second and third on a sacrifice bunt.
Leah McGovern tied the score with a sac fly then
Hannah Breitigan drove in a pair of runs with a double through the left side.

In the top of the fourth, Megan Visele tied the game with a two run home run before Lindsey Fenner deliver what proved to be the game-winning RBI.

Stefanie Ray went the distance to pick up the win for the Bulldogs.
Sierra Storm took the loss.

In game one, Chowan put up three runs in the second inning followed by two runs in the third and another in the fourth. The Hawks hung four more runs in the fifth inning to take a big lead.

Kayla Robbins was stellar in the circle for Chowan, striking out 11 and allowing just one hit in a complete game shutout.

Arianna Young took her first loss of the season.

The Mountaineers' will be back in action Sunday at 10 AM against PSAC rival Millersville.
