MANSFIELD –
Alexis Bittel found the back of the net early in the second half but the Mansfield University women's soccer team fell to Gannon 5-1.
Kayla Bevacqua put Gannon (10-2-2, 9-2-2 PSAC) on the board with a header 14 minutes into the game. The Golden Knights' second goal would cease the scoring until Mansfield's (0-12-1, 0-1-1 PSAC) second half response.
Nikki Ortiz placed the perfect long ball down the left side allowing Bittel to capitalize and beat the keeper inside the right post five minutes after intermission. Bittel's second goal of the season cut the Knight's lead to one.
Gannon would score four more goals to seal the Mounties fate. Sarah Kaiser led the Knight's with two goals.
Mansfield returns home to host Lock Haven on Saturday for Senior Day and the Breast Cancer Awareness game. Kick-off is set for 1:30 p.m.
