CLARION –
Ashley Inman pitched a complete-game victory and
Laura Lawson drilled a pair of home runs to lead Mansfield to a PSAC Central division sweep of Clarion Wednesday afternoon.

Mansfield (13-14, 5-5 PSAC Central) cruised to a 10-1 win in the opener before rallying for 10 runs between the sixth and seventh innings to earn a 13-4.

In game one,
Rachael Sterner opened the scoring with a two-run homer in the top of the first inning before driving in two more runs in the second inning with a two-out double to right field to give Mansfield an early 4-0 lead.

Clarion (3-22, 1-9 PSAC Central) got a run back in the bottom of the second but Inman stroked a solo homer to left in the top of the third and
Koryn Wickwire drove in Lawson on with a sacrifice fly in the fourth to extend the Mounties lead to 6-1.

After a pair of scoreless innings,
Megan Miller's RBI single in the seventh inning plated Wickwire before
Brooke Roys blasted a three-run homer to left field to give Mansfield a comfortable 10-1 advantage. The homer was the first of her career for Roys.

Inman went the distance in the circle, scattering seven hits and allowing no earned runs while striking out four batters. The win was the sixth of the season for Inman. Rachael Hoffman took the loss.

Clarion struck first in game two, scoring a pair of runs in the bottom of the second inning. However, a Sterner RBI double and
Megan Miller RBI single in the top of the third evened the score at 2-2.

The Golden Eagles jumped out to a 4-2 lead, scoring a runs in the bottom of the third and fourth innings.

In the fifth, Miller's RBI single scored
Casey Pearce to bring the Mountaineers within a run.
Â
Lawson opened the sixth inning with a home run to left field to tie the game at 4-4.
Melanie Taylor drove in a run before Miller came up big in a bases-loaded situation, driving in all three runs with a double to the gap as Mansfield jumped out to an 8-4 lead.

It was deja vu all over again as Lawson hit another solo shot to open up the seventh inning. Wickwire, Sterner, and Miller each plated runs as Mansfield posted another five-run inning to expand its lead to 13-4.

Ari Young earned her first win of the season in relief, allowing just two hits and no earned runs over 4.0 innings of work. Starting pitcher
Sierra Storm gave up two earned runs on five hits over 3.0 innings pitched.

Sarah Gossard took the loss for Clarion.
Â
Miller was red hot at the plate for Mansfield going 4-5 with six RBIs.

Mansfield hosts Pitt-Johnstown on Saturday at Lutes Field.
