LOCK HAVEN – Lock Haven came away with a pair of walk-off victories over Mansfield on Saturday to sweep a PSAC East doubleheader at Foundation Field in the season finale for both teams.

Lock Haven took the opener 4-3 in eight innings before winning the nightcap 13-9 also in eight innings.

In game one, Lock Haven (21-28-1, 9-18-1 PSAC East) took an early lead with a run in the bottom of the first.

Mansfield (18-27-1, 6-21-1 PSAC East) tied the game at 1-1 in the top of the fifth when
Hunter Huyett drove a double to right centerfield to score
Scott Rockwell. In the seventh,
Taylor Hillson singled and then scored the go-ahead run after a pair of Lock Haven errors.
Tanner Klein put the Mounties ahead 3-1 with an RBI-single to right to bring home
Zephan Kash.

Facing last at bats, Lock Haven plated a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh to force extra innings tied at 3-3. In the bottom of the eighth, Nick Stotler drew a one-out walk and moved over to third following a pair of wild pitches. A third wild pitch allowed Stotler to rush home and win the game.

Nick Hornbaker earned the win in relief, pitching the final 1.2 innings.

Alex Covel took the loss in relief. Mansfield starting pitcher
Chase Pepper tossed a two-hit gem over 6.2 innings worked with five strikeouts.

In the nightcap, Mansfield was first to get on the board on
Wes Custer's RBI-single to score Hillson.
Â
The Eagles plated a pair of runs in the second inning to take the lead, but
Tanner Klein tied the score at 2-2 with an RBI-triple in the third. The Mountaineers jumped out to a 5-2 lead with three runs in the fourth. Rockwell drove in a pair of runs with a single to the gap before scoring on a balk later in the inning.

Lock Haven hung six runs in the fifth to regain the lead at 8-5.

In the seventh,
Peter Pena drove in a run with a single to right then another crossed home following an error.
Ryan Paige hit a double down the right field line to plate two more runs and give Mansfield a 9-8 advantage.

The Eagles scored an unearned run in the bottom of the seventh to force extra innings.

Mansfield had a pair of runners in scoring position with one out in the top of the eighth, but were unable to score the go-ahead run. In the bottom of the inning, Tyson Petersheim took advantage of a bases-loaded situation by hitting a walk-off grand slam.

Brett Morrison earned the win in relief while
Billy Gregory took the loss.

Lock Haven took three of four games in the series.
