Anthony "Tony" Amendola - Class of 1949
Inducted into the Mansfield University Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame in 1985, Amendola was one of the "Casey's Boys" of the post-war era. An outstanding running back and defensive standout, Amendola was part of the 1946 state championship team.

Phil Answini Class of 1968
An All-PSAC selection at tight end in 1967, caught a team-high 24 passes for 331 yards and three touchdowns that season.

Larry Biddle - Class of 1959
Inducted into the Mansfield University Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame in 1998, Biddle was nicknamed the "Hopper". He was a four-year standout for the Mountaineers at running back and defensive back. An All-PSAC selection in 1957, Biddle also earned Pennsylvania University and College All-State recognition the same season. He still holds the school record for a 96-yard punt return for a touchdown against Millersville in 1957.

John Bobkowski - Class of 1948
Inducted into the Mansfield University Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame in 1999, Bobkowski was the quarterback of the Mountaineers during the 1946 and 1947 seasons. He led the team to an undefeated season and Pennsylvania State Championship in 1946 as one of the famed "Casey's Boys".

Rich Bowen – Class of 1968
Named to All-PSAC postseason honors in the defensive secondary in 1967, Bowen was a do-everything guy that season. He was credited with 32 tackles, two interceptions, returned eight punts for an average of 15.6 yards each, score a touchdown, kicked 12 extra points and hit two field goals.

Andy Bubnis - Class of 1970
Bubnis played just one season for the Mountaineers but what a season it was. Bubnis played for the Mountaineers during the 1969 campaign after a stint with the U.S. Marine Corps. His school-record 11 interceptions helped the Mountaineers to a 6-3 record and second-place finish in the PSAC East in 1969 earning him All-PSAC East honors. He has been nominated for the Mansfield University Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame.

Stu Casterline - Class of 1971
Inducted into the Mansfield University Alumni Athletic Hall Fame as a member of the original class of 1983, Casterline is considered by many to be one of the greatest players in school history.  The starting quarterback throughout his career, Casterline ranked among the conference leaders in passing and rushing. Named the PSAC Quarterback of the Year in 1969, Casterline led the Mountaineers to a 6-3 record that season and a second-place finish in the PSAC East. A 1st Team All-PSAC selection, Casterline also ranked sixth in the nation in the NAIA in total offense in 1969.

Ron Collier - Class of 1969
Inducted into the Mansfield University Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame in 1986, "Reb" Collier was a three-sport standout also playing basketball and baseball for the Mountaineers. In 1968, Collier racked up 31 tackles while catching eight passes for 108 yards and two touchdowns.

Bernie Cunningham - Class of 1940
Inducted into the Mansfield University Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame in 1995, Bernie Cunningham transferred to Mansfield from St. Mary's in Maryland and immediately helped the Mountaineers to the then best season in school history recording a 7-0 record in 1938 while outscoring opponents 106-2. Cunningham was the team's top pass receiver and punter.

Lou DiFilippantonio - Class of 1968
Inducted into the Mansfield University Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame in 2015, DiFilippantonio was a four-year member of the football team playing under head coaches Rod Kelchner and Tut Moore. DiFilippantonio started all four varsity seasons at three different positions on the offensive line. According to his coaches and teammates, DiFilippantonio was the unquestioned leader of the team. He started every game of his career, playing center during his sophomore season and guard as a junior before earning All-PSAC 1st Team honors as a senior. He also played linebacker on defense.  The 1967 team was considered the Mountaineer's best team since Mansfield won its final state championship in 1946. The 1967 team compiled a 6-3 overall record, suffering one-score losses to East Stroudsburg (20-14) and Bloomsburg (42-37).

Pete Dokas - Class of 1951
Inducted into the Mansfield University Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame in 2002, Dokas fought in Europe during WWII and entered Mansfield on the GI Bill. Although he never played high school football, the 6-5, 240-pound Dokas was a three-time letter winner playing on the 1948, 1949 and 1950 teams at both offensive and defensive end. In 1950 he was named to AP Pennsylvania Small College honors and was the only small college player in the nation to receive an invitation and play in the annual Blue-Grey All-Star game. After the game he was contacted by the legendary George Halas of the Chicago Bears and offered a $5,000 contract to play in the NFL.

Robert Dowd - Class of 1942
Inducted into the Mansfield University Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame in 2001, Dowd was a four-year letter winner for the football team and a two-year letter winner for the baseball team. Dowd was the only freshman to letter on the undefeated 1938 state championship football team. A quarterback, running back and place kicker on the football team, Dowd served as a team co-captain in 1941.

Steve Dreibelbis - Class of 1969
An All-PSAC pick in 1967, Dreibelbis was a standout on the defensive line during the late 1960s. He was the bookend to 1st Team selection David Straub that season. A four-year starter, Dreibelbis had 28 tackles in 1966, and 73 stops in 1967 along with two fumble recoveries and an interception. He recorded 57 stops during his senior season.

Len Givens - Class of 1965
Named to 1st Team All-PSAC honors in 1964 on the offensive line, Givens was the only Mansfield player selected to All-PSAC honors that season and one of just six players named to 1st  honors in the entire division. He was the only player except for players from East Stroudsburg and West Chester to be named to the team.  An athletic player on the front line, Givens played on the 1961-64 teams.

Joe Harrington - Class of 1950
Inducted into the Mansfield University Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame in 2008, Harrington was a member of both the 1946 and 1947 State Championship teams. An end, Harrington led the team in scoring in 1947 earning 1st Team All-Teacher's College honors. Mansfield defeated Bloomsburg, Edinboro, IUP, Kutztown, and Millersville as part of its 5-2-1 record that season.

Ray Hipp - Class of 1971
Hipp became the go to all-purpose back for the Mountaineers during the 1969 season helping Mansfield to a 6-3 record and second-place showing in the PSAC East.

Tom Hurley - Class of 1951
Inducted into the Mansfield University Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame in 1985, Tom Hurley was a standout both defensively and offensively on the gridiron for the Mountaineers and later become a coaching legend in the Elmira-Corning region.

William Johnson - Class of 1949
Inducted into the Mansfield University Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame in 1985, Johnson was a member of the 1946 undefeated football team, and the 1947 state championship basketball team. After graduation, he played for two years with the St. Louis Browns.

Jim Klinger - Class of 1971
Inducted into the Mansfield University Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame in 2009, Klinger was a key member of the Mountaineer football program from 1968-70. During that era, freshmen were not permitted to play on the varsity team. Jim was a backup to Hall of Fame quarterback Stu Casterline in 1968 and filled in well when Casterline went down with injuries. In 1969, Klinger was named to 1st Team All-PSAC honors at defensive back as the first Mountaineer defensive player in school history to earn first team recognition. He also served as punter and quarterback, taking over as starting quarterback in 1970.  

Ray Kodish - Class of 1949
Inducted into the Mansfield University Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame in the original Class of 1983, Kodish was a star in the backfield for Mansfield's 1946 and 1947 State Championship teams. He played fullback, quarterback and defensive back for the undefeated team of 1946.

Jim Logan - Class of 1967
Inducted into the Mansfield University Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame in 1987, Logan was an outstanding tackle for the Mountaineers from 1963-66 and twice earned 1st Team All-PSAC honors in 1965 and 1966. Logan was also a three-time PSAC wrestling champion in the unlimited division. He signed a free agent contract with the Dallas Cowboys.

Robert Magalski - Class of 1947
Inducted into the Mansfield University Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame in 1984, Magalski was Mansfield's leading scorer in football in both the 1941 and 1942 seasons. After an interruption in his college career for WWII, Magalski returned to Mansfield to captain the undefeated 1946 team to the State Championship. His 95-yard run from scrimmage against Lock Haven was a school record and he was named to the Polish All-American team in 1942

Vito Magdelinskas - Class of 1949
Inducted into the Mansfield University Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame in 1991, Magdelinskas played football for Mansfield from 1946 through 1948. He was an offensive center and defensive linebacker. He was honorable mention all-state in 1948 and had a 50-yard interception against Cortland that season. He is currently the assistant football and head basketball coach at Warwick High School where he has won five Class A Basketball titles and is a six-time Coach of the Year.

Thomas Manley - Class of 1940
Inducted into the Mansfield University Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame in 1991, Manley played football from 1937 to 1940 and was quarterback of the undefeated and state championship team. He was co-captain in 1940 and earned Small-School All-American honors that season.

Jerry Mattis - Class of 1964
Gerald "Jerry" Mattis was a four-year letter winner and starter for the football program under head coaches Ed Stelmack and Robert "Tut" Moore. Mattis was a four-year starter on the offensive line playing at tackle. He stood out for both his size (275) and quickness and also played defensively when needed as well as kicked extra points. He served as the only team captain his senior year.

Frank "Chic" Marra - Class of 1947
Inducted into the Mansfield University Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame as part of the original Class of 1983, Chic Marra was the leading rusher for the undefeated 1946 State Championship team.

Gerald McEneny - Class of 1949
Inducted into the Mansfield University Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame in 1996,  McEneny played fullback, halfback, quarterback, and defensive back from 1946-48. He set school records for interceptions in a game (3) and consecutive pass completions (13). McEneny played on the Mountaineer's last undefeated team in 1946 and was named to All-State honors in 1948.

Ed Mollahan - Class of 1952
Inducted into the Mansfield University Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame in 1998, "Big Ed" Mollahan was a transfer from Bucknell and  a three-year letter-winner in football at Mansfield. He played defensive and offensive tackle as well as tight end for Ted Casey. Mollahan started every game in his career except one. He was renowned for having the most blocked field goals and most blocked kicks during his career. He scored seven touchdowns and was the team's leading tackler twice.

Gilbert "Gib" Moore - Class of 1960
Inducted into the Mansfield University Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame in 1985, "Gib" started every football game through the 1956-1960 seasons. He was captain of the '59 team and led his team in tackles. Moore was nominated to the 1st Team All-Conference and the Little All-American teams. He was named Mansfield's Athlete of the Year in 1960 and he was the first lineman inducted into the Mansfield Athletic Hall of Fame.  

Joe Moresco - Class of 1950
Inducted into the Mansfield University Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame in 1986, Moresco was a three-sport standout in football, basketball and baseball.

Bill Roesch - Class of 1964
Inducted into the Mansfield University Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame in 2000, Roesch was the quarterback for the Mountaineers from 1959-1962 and won three varsity football letters. He compiled 58 completions in 108 attempts for 1,148 yards - an average of 19.8 yards per completion - eight touchdowns, and an average of 143.5 yards per game. Roesch completed 53.7 percent of his passes per game. He was honorable mention All-Conference and All-State in 1960. In 1960, he was 8th in the nation in small college passing and 9th in 1961. In one game against Shippensburg, he completed 10 of 14 for 285 yards. Bill was part of the passing combination "Roesch to Ronchi."

Ray Ronchi - Class of 1962
Inducted into the Mansfield University Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame in 1985, Ray Ronchi held Mountie records for the most passes caught in one game, one season, and in a career. He also holds the marks for most yardage in one game, season, career, and also most passes caught for touchdowns. In 1960, Ronchi was the second leading receiver in the nation.

Tim Salony - Class of 1968
Salony was a defensive standout for the Mountaineers from 1964-67. An All-PSAC selection 1967, Salony played both linebacker and defensive end leading the team in tackles in 1967 with 60 stops along with two fumble recoveries and two interceptions. He was third on the team in tackles with 68 in 1966.
 
Pat Schemery Class of 1970
Known for his toughness and consistency, Schemery was a standout for the Mountaineers in the late 1960s after transferring from Susquehanna. Over a span of three seasons, Schemery racked up 166 tackles and five interceptons.
 
Chester Schlicking - Class of 1966
A coach's pick, Schlicking was the starting center for the Mountaineers in the mid-60s playing next to Len Givens. An excellent blocker, he mastered the newly introduced reach block. A tough and disciplined player, Schlicking often played through pain throughout his career.

Stan "Skip" Skowron - Class of 1970
A four-year starter, Skowron was one of the top defensive players during his era. A starter throughout the late 1960s, Skowran is a coach's pick and a four-year starter who was second on the team in tackles in 1968.

Vince Siracuse - Class of 1958
Inducted into the Mansfield University Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame in 1984, Siracuse was Mansfield's leading scorer on the football gridiron during the 1955 and 1956 seasons on his way to being selected to all-state honors in '56. He also played defense for the Mountaineers, filling in as linebacker and strong safety. As a senior in 1958, Siracuse was selected Athlete, Gentleman, and Scholar of the Year at Mansfield.  

Austin "Duke" Snyder - Class of 1962
Snyder's contributions to Mountaineer football far surpass his outstanding play on the gridiron. Recruited to Syracuse on a full scholarship, Snyder came to Mansfield from nearby Sayre after suffering a knee injury. Snyder still was a force on the defensive line and still considered one of the top players on the field even when dragging his bad leg. Snyder became a strong supporter of Mountaineer football for the rest of his life with the Austin Snyder Alumni Appreciation Award presented annually at the Frank Butsko Brunch.

John Soprano - Class of 1968
Inducted into the Mansfield University Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame in 2012, Soprano, a Sayre native, was considered the premier running back on the football team in one of the most successful eras in school history. A four-year starter under head coaches Tut Moore and Rod Kelchner from 1964-67, Soprano earned All-PSAC 1st-Team honors as a senior. He was a co-captain and leading rusher on the 1967 team that posted a 6-3 record, the most wins for the program in 27 years.

David Straub - Class of 1968
A 1st Team All-PSAC East selection in 1967 at defensive end, Straub was the anchor of a terrific defense that season with a team-best 88 tackles including 56 solo. He was second on the team in tackles with 86 in 1966.

Frank Sudak - Class of 1954
The best offensive tackle of his era, Sudak was one of just 11 total players named to the 1953 All-PSAC team. The first Mansfield player to earn the honor after the PSAC was formed in 1951, Sudak was the mainstay for the Mountaineers during the early 1950s.

John Sukenik - Class of 1963
Inducted into the Mansfield University Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame in 1999,  Sukenik played football at Mansfield from 1959 through 1962, winning three varsity letters. For two years, Sukenik was a two-way starter playing offensive guard, defensive middle guard and defensive tackle. Sukenik was named honorable mention Little All-American in 1961 and 1962, 1st Team All-PSAC in 1962 and 3rd team AP All-Pennsylvania in 1962.
 
Ed Trexler - Class of 1969
Hailed by his coaches as one of the toughest inside linebackers in school history, Trexler was a starter throughout his career. A tenuous tackler, Trexler racked up a team-best 72 tackles in 1968 and finished second in 1966 with 69 stops. He was third on the team in 1967 with 77 tackles.

James Tomallo - Class of 1962
Inducted into the Mansfield University Alumni Athletic Hall Fame in 1987, Tomallo was known as the "monster" by his fellow teammates. A middle linebacker for the Mountaineers in the late 1950s and early 1960s, he led the team in tackles for three straight seasons, usually averaging more than 10 tackles per game.

Chet Wasilewski - Class of 1948
Inducted into the Mansfield University Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame in the original Class of 1983, Wasilewski was one of the many WWII veterans who came to Mansfield after the war as one of "Casey's Boys". Wasilewski was a three-sport athlete at Mansfield playing football, basketball and baseball. He earned six total letters in his collegiate career, two in each sport. He holds the distinction of scoring 13 touchdowns in five games and was a member of the 1947 championship team playing quarterback and halfback. In 1947, he was named to the AP All-Teacher's College team and the AP All-Pennsylvania Team and Coaches Award.

Joseph Witowski - Class of 1957
Inducted into the Mansfield University Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame as a member of the original 1983 class, Witowski was a three-sport standout and four-year starter on the football team. The team's leading tackler in 1956 and 1957, Witowski was an All-Conference selection in 1956.

Len Zanowicz - Class of 1951
A defensive standout for the Mountaineers throughout his career, Zanowicz held the school record with an 85-yard touchdown return on an interception against Brockport in 1950.
