MANSFIELD – The Mansfield University Mountaineers will hit to road for the last time this season when they travel to Chestnut Hill to face the Griffins in the season finale for both teams.

Kickoff is set for noon at Plymouth-Whitemarsh Football Stadium in Lafayette Hill. The game will be broadcast by Curt Lowe on ESPN Radio Williamsport and streamed live at GoMounties.com.

It marks the second meeting between the two schools on the gridiron with Mansfield recording a 22-6 victory at Chestnut Hill last season.

Mansfield scored the game's first 22 points and outgained Chestnut Hill 302-137 in total yards in that game.

The Mountaineers are coming off their first win of the season after shutting out Post 28-0 last Saturday at Karl Van Norman Field in a Senior Day outing. Chestnut Hill, which has a 29-24 win over Cornell and 14-12 victory over Post earlier this season, suffered a heartbreaking 14-8 loss at Franklin Pierce last week when the Ravens scored on the final play of the game.

Mansfield jumped out to a 14-0 first quarter lead against Post and never looked back. The Mountaineer defense dominated the game pitching their first shutout since beating Post 27-0 in 2015.

It marks the third game in a row that the MU defense has turned in an exceptional performance, holding Post to just 135 yards in total offense after holding Navy to a season-low 277 yards the week before.

Mansfield's passing defense ranks first in the CSFL allowing an average of just 126.5 yards per game through the air. For the second week in a row, the Mountaineer secondary picked-off four interceptions in a game with freshman
Kardale Taylor returning his third interception of the season for a 49-yard touchdown against post.

Over the last three games, the defense has recorded 10 interceptions and held opponents to an average of just 226.3 yards in total offense over that span.

Senior linebacker
John Capwell tops the team and ranks second in the CSFL in tackles with 53 on the season while fellow seniors
Kyle Post and
Mike Bucek have 39 and 38 tackles respectively.
Kardale Taylor tops the CSFL in passes defended with 10 and is second in the league in interceptions with three.

Offensively Mansfield has recorded its three highest scoring games over the past three weeks averaging 16.7 points per game and has scored on all six of its red-zone opportunities.

Sophomore quarterback
Adam Hutchison has completed 35-of-76 passes for 358 yards and two touchdowns over the past three outings. More importantly he has thrown just one interception, none over the last two games, after throwing nine picks over the course of the first three games.

Senior
Kurt Logan and freshman
D.J. McLean rank among the top receivers in the conference with a combined 53 catches between them. Logan is the all-time receptions leader in school sprint football history with 93 receptions for 1,101 yards and nine touchdowns.

Mansfield has also turned it around on turnovers, giving up the ball just twice over the last three games with 11 takeaways.

Chestnut Hill is in its second year of competition in the CSFL. The Griffins are under the direction of former Mansfield assistant coach Mike Pearson.

Chestnut Hill ranks seventh in the CSFL in total offense averaging 205.5 yards per game and eighth in total defense giving up an average of 352.0 yards per contest.

The Griffins are third in the league in sacks recording 12 so far this season.

Freshman quarterback Michael Marino is third in the CSFL in passing completing 75-of-170 passes for 867 yards and five touchdowns. He has been intercepted four times.
