Jesse Jones Leads Mansfield Men to Win Over Bloomsburg in Season Opening Flatlander Rag Relay

MANSFIELD – Seniors Jesse Jones and Joelsen Resimo finished first and second overall to lead the Mansfield University men's cross country team to an impressive 18-44 win over Bloomsburg in the 2015 season opener at the Lamb's Creek course in the Flatlander Rag Relays Friday.

Jones rank away from the field posting a time of 20:03 with Resimo 18 seconds behind at 20:21. Mansfield would take six of the top seven spots with senior Quashaun Willis placing fourth at 20:40 followed by freshman Baily Lutz in fifth (20:42). Fellow freshman Parish Bridges took sixth (20:52).

Junior Ben Drexler placed seventh (20:55) with freshman Ran Clifford rounding out the Mountaineers top seven finishers at ninth (21:22).

Daniel Neiswender led Bloomsburg with a third place time of 20:28 with Thomas Moser taking eighth. Freshman Nick McGuire was 13^th in his first collegiate competition.

In the women's race, Kate Dodds led the pack with a winning time of 14:44 and Bloomsburg took the first four places to post a 39-16 win.

Junior Allison McCurry led Mansfield's efforts finishing fifth at 15:43. Senior Allison Macon was seventh (16:14) with sophomores Jessica Wojtkowiak (16:46), Kirsten Anderson (16:58) and Sara Clauto (17:10) coming in 8^th, 9^th, and 10^th respectively.

Mansfield returns to the Lamb's Creek course next Saturday for a quad meet.
