Allison McCurry finished 12
th overall to earn 1
st Team All-PSAC honors leading the Mansfield women and
Jesse Jones finished 38
th to pace the Mountaineer men at the 2015 PSAC Cross Country Championships hosted by Slippery Rock.
The men's team finished 10
th overall while the women were 13
th.
"I'm very pleased with how both teams ran today" said head coach
Mike Rohl. "They ran very well on a hard course."
McCurry had a great race, finishing 12
th overall with a time of 22.37.4. The junior's time is the second fastest in program history at the SRU course behind only Brenae Edwards.
Allison Macon shattered her personal best time at the course by almost two minutes, turning in a time of 24:22.4 to finish 57
th.
Kelly Snyder finished 84
th at 25:07 with
Sara Clauto hitting a one minute course PR at 25:20.5 for 96
th overall.
Melanie Hilliard also ran her fastest time at SRU with a 25:38 to finish 107
th.
Jones ran hard to top the Mountie men with a course PR of 26:52. It marks the second straight year that Jones has turned in a top 40 result at the conference meet.
Freshman
Parrish Bridges had an outstanding day, racing for an 8K personal best time of 27:28 to finish 56
th.
Ben Drexler was not far behind with his course PR of 27:36.3 to finish 65
th.
Quashaun Jaquay Willis and
Joelsen Resimo crossed the line together to finish 77
th and 78
th respectively at 27:57.
Shakim Blackwell was the sixth Mountie in the top 100 with his time of 28:16.6 to finish 94
th.
Mansfield travels to the Lock Haven Fast River Run next Saturday before the NCAA Atlantic Regional on Nov. 7.
