FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mounties Hit the Road for First Time on Sunday against CSFL Newcomer Chestnut Hill
MANSFIELD – Move over NFL – the Mounties are playing on Sunday.
The Mansfield University sprint football team will hit the road for the first time this season when the Mounties travel to Philadelphia to face CSFL newcomer Chestnut Hill this Sunday.
The game is scheduled for a noon start at Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School Football Stadium. Fans unable to attend the game can still follow the action via streaming broadcast on ESPN Radio Williamsport with a link available at GoMounties.com.
The Mountaineers have struggled to get their offense established in opening season losses at home to Cornell and Navy.
A young Mansfield team ranks 9
th in the CSFL in both scoring offense and total offense after facing two of the tops teams in the league. The Mountaineers have fared much better defensively ranking fourth in the CSFL in pass defense and third in kickoff and punt returns.

Sean Green is the CSFL's top punter, averaging an impressive 40.4 yards per game while freshman running back
Aren Harris ranks seventh in the league in rushing, averaging 69.0 yards per outing.

Spencer Underdown leads the league in tackles with 20 stops after the first two games of the season while sophomore
Alexander Nicolas is fifth with 16 tackles including a league-leading 12 solos.

Evan Ruggles are tied for 11
th in the league with 14 tackles each.
Chestnut Hill is under the direction of former Mountaineer assistant coach Mike Pearson. The Griffins won their first ever football game two weeks ago when they downed Princeton 48-13.
Chestnut Hill had a week off from that opener where it displayed a balanced offense, rushing for 244 yards and passing for 192.
Transfer quarterback Reginald Robinson went 11-of-18 for 192 yards and three touchdowns while Desantae Callis ran for 127 yards on 14 carries.
Mansfield returns home to Karl Van Norman Field next Saturday when the Mountaineers host Army West Point for LUMA 2105.
