No. 2 West Chester Too Much for Mounties on Senior Day

MANSFIELD – West Chester, the No. 2 ranked team in NCAA Division II, proved too much for Mansfield in a 5-0 win Saturday afternoon at Karl Van Norman Field.

Seniors Mallory Christman, Brianna Hathaway, Haley Stevens, Courtney Wilson and Avery Yoder were honored in pregame game ceremonies prior to their last home game of their careers.

Mansfield was playing without starting goalie and NCAA Division II saves leader Laura Lawson but got an impressive showing from backup Gabrielle Spatz who recorded 15 saves during the contest.
Chelsea Tanco and Julie Cacace each had shots for Mansfield.

The Mountaineers will be on the road for their final three games of the season starting at Seton Hill on Wednesday.
