FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Carlsen Qualifies for NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Javelin

INDIANAPOLIS – Mansfield's Kelsey Carlsen has qualified for the upcoming NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the javelin throw.

The championships will be held May 22-24 in Allendale, Michigan, at the Grand Valley State Track and Field Stadium. Grand Valley State and the West Michigan Sports Commission will serve as co-hosts of the championships.
Carlsen set a school record with a throw of 143' 0" at the Coastal Carolina Invitational in March. At the PSAC Championships two weeks ago, Carlsen placed fourth with a mark of 131' 5".

Carlsen is seeded 20^th overall in a field of 21 athletes. The sophomore is one of just three PSAC athletes to qualify for the championships in the javelin.
